The Stoop at the Maui Tropical Plantation, located in Waikapu on the island of Maui, is a casual restaurant located next to the entrance of the plantation. Ronan and I tried the fresh pressed cane juice with lime and ginger. It’s a super sweet drink that has a little kick to it. I watered down the juice for Ronan and he loved it! The Stoop uses local greens from Kumu Farms to prepare items on their menu that include salads, paninis, curry, poke, soup and a Chef’s Special plate lunch of the day. Fresh baked goods are presented in cake stands at the counter and are hard to resist. In addition to fresh pressed cane juice they offer kombucha, coffee, tea and fresh Maui coconut water. Herbs and succulents grow in repurposed wood pallets at the curb and old surfboards are used as a fence to adding island charm to the location.
The word “stoop” refers to the porch or entrance to a house where people congregate. It’s the perfect name for this much needed casual dining offering in Waikapu. I even brought Jack and he was stoked to sniff the rainbow painted fire hydrant. The Stoop is open from 10 am – 4 pm daily.
